Motivation and some expectations:
To have functional medical equipment is something the developed world take for granted. Unfortunately, this is not the case all over the world, and some developing countries experience non-functional equipment as a big problem. As Synnøve, I too believe that growing up in the developed world comes with a responsibility. It is important to me that people have the same opportunities, and that we work to decrease the differences in the world. This made me apply for DTU-EWH Summer Program. Repairing equipment, as well as training locals and create easy-to-read manuals makes it a sustainable project which is something I find extremely important.
I also believe that the project will give me a personal development, and I think I have a lot to learn from Nepali people. I look forward to learning more about Nepalese culture, the country, and the healthcare. I am really excited, and can’t wait to get started!
