Let’s look at three ways NTNU fit into the name of our project.
- All five of us are NTNU students.
More specifically, we have either just finished our second or third year of one of the many five years masters programs in engineering at NTNU Gløshaugen in Trondheim.
2. The Nordich Five Tech alliance
NTNU is part of the Nordic Five Tech alliance, which consist of five northern European universities; NTNU -Norwegian University of Science and Technology, DTU – Denmarks Technical University, KTH – Royal Institute of Technology (SE), Chalmers University of Technology (SE) and Aalto University (FI) to five other nordic universities, we have, as NTNU students, the possibility to apply for a place on the Engineering World Health Summer Institute Nepal, which consist of a three week long preparation course in biomedical engineering at DTU, as well as 10 days of culture and language orientations and a month of work at local hospitals, trying to repair medical equipment in Nepal.
3. NTNU is our biggest financial sponsor:
Participation in the EWH summer institute cost money, and the contribution from different institutions, faculties and departments at NTNU adds up to be our biggest financial support. The support is highly appreciated and the trip would not really be possible without it.
We have received financial support from:
- NTNU Health
- Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering
- Faculty of Natural Sciences
- Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
- Department of Energy and Process Engineering
We also want to thank NTNU Global health for giving useful information and advice.
